This work is a quiet record of recovery. In the summer of 2022, the artist began experiencing stress-related physical symptoms — numb hands, daily headaches, and deep exhaustion. What started as an invisible struggle slowly became a turning point: a return of sensation, the ability to rest, and the reawakening of future possibilities.
Recovery came not only through medical care, but through the act of speaking — naming what was happening, expressing what is often kept silent. In this, expression became a form of care, of reclaiming agency and emotional resonance.
Grounded in feminist philosophies of care, the work reflects on care as more than emotional support — as a relational, political, and daily practice of sustaining life. As María Puig de la Bellacasa writes, “care is a matter of response-ability.”
When exhibited, the work often invites others to respond in kind — sharing personal stories, sometimes for the first time. In this way, it becomes not only a personal testimony, but a shared gesture of recognition, tenderness, and quiet solidarity. Take care of yourself.
